How this is ranked. An equal-weighted blend of four measures: safety (recorded offences per 1,000), parks, green space within walking distance, and how family-aged the existing population is. See the honesty note below about school catchments. 420 of 422 Sydney suburbs had enough data to be ranked. Updated August 2026.

What this list does not include: school catchments. Every competing list leans on them and we do not hold that data yet, so we have left it out rather than implied we accounted for it. Catchment data is the next input we want. Judge this list on the four measures above, which are stated, sourced and reproducible — which is four more than the alternatives state.
